Friday will be sunny and pleasant, with temperatures in the 50s. For the weekend, winds pick up on Saturday, and rain showers arrive on Sunday, which will stick around for the start of the week.

Thursday night, temperatures will drop in the 30s. Friday will be similar to Thursday, sunny and pleasant with temperatures in the 50s. Breezes are expected to pick up Friday. By Sunday, some rain is possible.

FOX 9's Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard was at Target Field for the Twin's home opener Thursday. It was a gorgeous home opener with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Looking ahead, Friday will warmer and breezy with temperatures in the 50s. By Sunday, the clouds are expected to return, possibly bringing some rain.

Thursday is looking much calmer and brighter for an enjoyable Twins home opener. The Twin Cities metro area will have decent sunshine and some cloud coverage with a high of 50 degrees.

Wednesday will be windy, with gusts topping 45 mph at times in the Twin Cities metro area. While temperatures are in the mid-40s, given the strong winds, it will feel much cooler. The breezes will calm into Thursday, with a high of 48 degrees for the Minnesota Twins home opener.

A wind advisory is in effect for the Twin Cities metro and southern Minnesota starting overnight.

It's a gloomy Tuesday with cloudy skies and spotty showers possible throughout the day. Winds will pick up into the evening and last into Wednesday, which could make it feel blustery.

Ian Leonard takes a look at the week ahead, which includes nicer weather moving forward this week.

A nice sunrise, but the cloud cover will linger today with plenty of moisture in southern Minnesota. However, this moisture will struggle to get into the Twin Cities. A few sprinkles or very light showers are possible, but it's gray more than anything with temps heading into the mid-40s.

April showers bring May flowers, and portions of southern and central Minnesota could see some precipitation to kick off the month. The measurable rain will remain in southern Minnesota on Monday, but the Twin Cities metro area could get a sprinkle.

Southern Minnesota will have a chance of light rain and light snow on Sunday. Impacts will be minimal with the light precipitation more a nuisance. Monday will also feature a chance of light rain and snow. Warmer and sunny days expected later next week.
