Harris County deputy shot; possible suspect fled in patrol car
HOUSTON - A Harris County deputy has been shot, and a search is underway for the suspect.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the shooting occurred in East Harris County on Bayou Drive near the East Freeway.
The deputy was taken to the hospital and was last reported to be in fair condition.
The sheriff says a possible suspect fled in a patrol car, which was later found near Dell Dale and the East Freeway.
What we don't know:
The deputy has not been identified. It's unclear what led up to the incident.

The sheriff's office is searching for Chase Layne Patin. He was reportedly wearing a black cap, gray shirt and black shorts.
