Twin Cities mayors want power to put firearm bans in place

In the wake of the mass shooting at Annunciation Church, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter and Brooklyn Park Mayor Hollies Winston will press the legislature on Tuesday to change a state law that prevents cities from putting gun regulations in place.

Glock lawsuit in Minnesota survives efforts to dismiss

Minnesota’s lawsuit against gun manufacturer Glock can proceed following a district judge’s ruling this week which denied the company’s attempts to dismiss the civil case under a federal shield law that generally protects the firearms industry from civil litigation.

Most ghost guns legal, Minnesota Supreme Court rules

The court ruled the state law that prohibits the possession of an unserialized firearm does not apply if the gun is not federally required to have a serial number, which includes most ghost guns and heirloom firearms.
