Vikings DE Danielle Hunter named NFC Defensive Player of Week
EAGAN, Minn. (KMSP) - Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week following the team’s win over the Detroit Lions Sunday, where they set a new franchise record with 10 sacks.
Hunter, 24, had 3.5 of those 10 sacks—a new career-high. He now leads the NFL with 11.5 sacks this season.
The fourth-year pro also added nine tackles, three tackles for loss, four quarterback pressures and one fumble recovery that h returned 32 yards for a game-sealing touchdown in the 4th quarter.
The Vikings beat the Lions 24-9.
This is the first NFC Player of the Week award for Hunter and the eighth by a Vikings defensive player under head coach Mike Zimmer.
