Gophers football to play first-ever Friday night home game this season

Mark your calendars - the official start times for five Gophers football home games for the upcoming season are on the books.

The Big Ten Conference announced the start times Thursday.

The Gophers will kickoff their season at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30 at home against New Mexico State. The game will air on BTN.

For Homecoming, Minnesota will face-off in a border war against the Iowa Hawkeyes at 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6. This marks the 100th Homecoming game in team history. 

Also notable, the Gophers will host Indiana for the first time at TCF Bank Stadium for Minnesota's first-ever Friday night game on Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FS1.

Aug. 30 vs. New Mexico State - 6:00 p.m.

Sept. 8 vs. Fresno State - 6:30 p.m.

Sept. 15 vs. Miami (OH) - 2:30 p.m.

Oct. 6 vs. Iowa - 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.

Oct. 26 vs. Indiana - 7:00 p.m.

Nov. 10 vs. Purdue - TBA

Nov. 17 vs. Northwestern - TBA
