3 ways to keep warm at the Vikings-Seahawks game

It’s going to be really cold on Sunday -- like, one of the coldest Vikings games on record -- and the Vikings are warning fans to be extra cautious while attending the Vikings-Seahawks wild card matchup at TCF Bank Stadium. However, they’re offering a few warm amenities to help cut the cold.

1. Free hand warmers will be distributed in the Fan Zone and at entry gates – but you’re encouraged to bring your own, too.

2. Free Caribou Coffee in the Fan Zone located on Oak Street outside TCF Bank Stadium.

3. At 9:00 a.m., Mariucci Arena will be open and available as a pregame warming house for fans.

Blankets are allowed and encouraged inside the stadium. The Vikings are also encouraging fans to bring Styrofoam, cardboard or newspapers to place under their feet within the stadium, which the team says has worked in other outdoor markets.

"We know Minnesotans are resilient when it comes to cold weather and unified when it comes to the Vikings, so we view this Sunday's game as a rallying moment," said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf. "At the same time, we want our fans to be smart and safe when they are supporting the team, and we are taking a few extra steps to assist in that effort this Sunday."
