Woman fatally stabbed in domestic violence incident

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - A 23-year-old woman is dead after she was stabbed multiple times by her husband Saturday.

Eden Prairie police were called to the 17000 block of Park Circle around 10:30 am, where they found the woman with multiple stab wounds, she died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The woman’s name has not been released.

30-year-old Yeveginy Savenok fled the scene with the couple’s two children and turned himself into St. Paul police at 1 pm.

Savenok is in police custody and was awaiting trial for a previous domestic assault. Police said they have been called to the home several times in the past year.

Their two children, a 4-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl are with family members.

A GoFundMe page identifies the victim as Lyuba Savenok. More than $18,000 has been raised in 6 hours to help with funeral expenses and funds for the two young children left behind.
