Victim identified in Shakopee, Minn. homicide

Authorities have identified the woman killed in Shakopee, Minnesota last week. 

Shortly after 4 p.m.on Aug.12, officers were called to a house on the 1200 block of Taylor Street on a report of a fight and were advised that a man with a knife had killed someone. When they arrived, they found a woman dead inside. 

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Enedelia Perez Garcia, 27, of Shakopee. She died of multiple sharp force injuries. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.  

Prior to the officers' arrival at the scene, the suspect, a 35-year-old man, attempted suicide. He was provided medical aid at the scene and arrested. 

Police believe this was a domestic violence incident and there is no threat to the public.
