UPDATE: Missing boater's body found in Nokay Lake near Brainerd, Minn.
BRAINERD (KMSP) - Authorities found and identified a man's body found in Nokay Lake near Brainerd, Minnesota, as that of the 54-year-old man who was reported missing on Friday.
The body of Raymond Achman was located at 9:41 a.m. Saturday with the help of side scan sonar. He was then transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Officers from the Crow Wing County sheriff's office responded to a call shortly before 8 a.m. Friday for a welfare check on a man who hadn't shown up to work for the last two days. About five minutes later, the sheriff's office received a call of an abandoned boat floating on Nokay Lake. The boat was registered to Achman.
