Local is the word of the year at Target Field when it comes to food, with a new full-service dining area meant to showcase all that Minnesota has to offer.

Bat & Barrel is replacing the former Metropolitan Club, and highlights the Twins' new offerings for the 2018 season set to open Thursday with several beers and food offerings baseball lovers might recognize from across the cities.

The restaurant's entrée section is led by Twin Cities favorites Murray's, Red Rabbit and Baja Haus, while appetizers come from CRAVE, Hell's Kitchen, Ike's and Red Cow. Also featured is a quick-serve counter with selections from Hot Indian Foods, Kramarczuks and Red Cow, as well as multiple bars serving beers from Summit, Surly, Fulton and other well-known Twin Cities brands.

Cocktails made with spirits from Tattersall Distilling will also be featured, including a bloody mary with not one, but two mini sandwiches--a hamburger and a ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich--affixed to the cup with a wooden skewer. A selection of sausages and cheeses also brings the spread together.

The team is once again partnering with its exclusive food and beverage partner Delaware North to bring back much of the stadium's food lineup--including a stand run by Twin Cities food legend Andrew Zimmern.

Andrew Zimmern's Canteen in section 114 will feature a new Mediterranean rice bowl with chicken or beef short ribs, as well as the Travel Channel star's popular "frozen hot chocolate."

Minneapolis restaurant Holy Land is also getting its own food cart featuring chicken shwirma and gyro wraps and pita chips in section 108.
