Twins host Fortnite gaming event on video boards at Target Field

Hosting 81 home games a year, Target Field is no stranger to competition, but a new kind of competition invaded the stadium Sunday as Twins players and professional gamers hosted a Fortnite event.

The WorldGaming Network will put on the event that they are calling “Fortday” that will feature Twins pitcher Trevor May and professional gamers BasicallyIDoWrk and Jordan Fisher.

Before the Twins’ first pitch at 1 p.m., gaming fans can arrive at Target Field at 10 a.m. to watch May and the professional gamers play on the video board inside Target Field.

Twins catcher Mitch Garver will serve as the emcee for the event.

With your ticket to the Fortnite viewing party, guests also get a reserved seat for the Twins vs. Royals game at 1 p.m. The first 500 fans also receive a Twins “Fortday” t-shirt with Trevor May.

Gate 14 (just behind home plate off North Seventh Street) will open to gaming fans at 9:45 a.m. The viewing session runs from 10-11 a.m.
