Top Teacher: Jessica Wang of Jackson Middle School
CHAMPLIN, Minn. (FOX 9) - Every year FOX 9 takes time to honor educators for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.
Thursday, FOX 9's Dawn Stevens presented a Top Teacher award to Jessica Wang, a science teacher at Jackson Middle School in Champlin, Minnesota.
Wang's coworker Rhonda Holtz nominated her for the award, saying Wang positively influences students every day.
"One of the best ways Mrs. Wang influences students is her amazing ability to take abstract concepts in science and relate them to real world experiences that her students can understand," wrote Holtz.
Wang also teaches summer school and leads groups such as WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) and the school's weekly news broadcast.
As a FOX 9 Top Teacher, Wang's school will receive $1,000 from Royal Credit Union. Wang will also receive a Subway sandwich party and a Top Teacher award.
