Thousands of people celebrated the warmer temperatures by jumping into Bde Maka Ska, formerly known as Lake Calhoun, Saturday.

Polar Plunge season continued Saturday morning with the biggest plunge of the season.

Fox 9’s Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard served as the Plunge Ambassador. Dressed as a gray duck he led a flock of 50 people—also dressed as ducks—into the frozen lake.

Meteorologist Jennifer McDermed also took the plunge—cannonballing into the icy water.

The Polar Plunge raises money for Special Olympics Minnesota.
