Suspect arrested after body found buried at home near Pelican Rapids, Minn.

Deputies arrested a man in connection with the death of a 28-year-old man whose body was found buried on a property in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota over the weekend. 

On Friday, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25-year-old man after he informed them of an incident that resulted in a person’s death. The victim, identified as Dylan Butler, had been living at the suspect’s home near Pelican Rapids since May. 

At 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office detectives and special agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension uncovered Butler’s body buried on the suspect’s property off Holbrook Road. The body had evidence of gunshot wounds. 

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy on Monday to determine the cause of death. 

Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.
