Sheriff: Wanted man escaped police perimeter during standoff in Meeker County

HARVEY TOWNSHIP, Minn. (FOX 9) - Authorities are searching for a wanted felon who escaped deputies during a standoff Thursday in Meeker County, Minnesota.
At 12:03 p.m., the Meeker County sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call about a domestic assault in Harvey Township where the suspect showed a gun. The caller had fled the home.
Deputies responded to the home on the 58400 block of CSAH 16 and confirmed the suspect, Anthony Kalland, 38, of Brainerd, was inside. They then established a perimeter.
The sheriff’s office made contact with Kalland, but he refused to communicate or comply and the standoff continued into the evening.
According to the sheriff’s office, Kalland “used the cover of darkness to sneak through an outer perimeter line and fled the scene.”
While executing a search warrant at the home, deputies found a stolen vehicle, ammunition and drug paraphernalia, but did not locate a firearm.
Kalland has three outstanding felony warrants in Crow Wing, Sherburne and Renville counties and is wanted on charges of domestic assault, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.
He is considered armed and potentially dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at 320-693-5400 or call 911.
