Sheriff: Pedestrian hit, killed in rural Isanti County

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in rural Isanti County Monday evening. 

At 11:30 p.m., the Isanti County Sheriff's Office responded to a report fo a pedestrian that had been hit by a car near Verdin Street Northwest and 285th Avenue Northeast in Bradford Township, according to Isanti County Sheriff Chris Caulk. 

When authorities arrived, they found a man lying in the road on 285th Avenue Northwest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, the sheriff's office said. 

The identity of the victim has not been released. The Midwest Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy and make a positive identification. 

The incident remains under investigation.
