School bus starts smoking on Interstate 694, five students evacuated

Five students were transferred to another bus after their school bus starting smoking on Interstate 694 in Arden Hills, Minnesota, during the Monday morning commute.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the bus experienced a mechanical issue that caused the bus to emit heavy white smoke. The bus pulled over near the junction of Interstate 35W and the smoke stopped.

There were no reported medical issues.
