One of Minnesota's tastiest traditions continues in Washington, D.C., with the ninth annual Hotdish Competition.

Members of Minnesota's congressional delegation gathered Tuesday to share their special recipes. The entire Minnesota congressional delegation participated in the ninth annual competition, including: representatives Angie Craig, Tom Emmer, Jim Hagedorn, Betty McCollum, Ilhan Omar, Collin Peterson, Dean Phillips, Pete Stauber and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

This year's winner was Congresswoman Betty McCollum's "Hotdish A-Hmong Friends," featuring ground beef, tater tots, egg roll wraps and Thai chilis among other ingredients.

Senator Tina Smith, who hosts the annual tradition, said this year's contest featured a strong showing by the house members.

“Minnesotans know that hotdish has the ability to bring people together, and when you have the chance to do that in Washington without getting politics involved, it’s a testament to why this tradition continues year after year,” said Sen. Tina Smith.
