Police: Multiple suspects wanted in connection with New Hope home invasion

Multiple suspects are believed to be responsible for a home invasion that took place on the 7300 block of 62nd Ave. in New Hope.

New Hope Police Department Captain Scott Slawson says authorities received a call at 1:29 p.m. today about "a robbery-type situation at a house where more than one suspect it sounds like entered the home, and threatened the residents with a weapon."

Police Clips, citing scanner audio, reports that the suspects "took all the phones and locked residents in the basement." Slawson says he can't confirm that account of events at this time, but adds that "four hours or more passed before police were called."

Once inside the house, the suspects demanded money, cell phones, and "possibly other items," Slawson says.

Asked whether the victims knew the suspects, Slawson replies, "It appears there may be a connection" but adds, "We're still trying to establish that through investigative means."

Slawson says that while the victims did provide authorities with descriptions of the suspects, those aren't being publicly released at this time. No arrests have been made.

With regard to injuries, Slawson says, "If there were any, they were minor... at least one person was maybe hit in the head."
