Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on I-694 in Vadnais Heights, Minn.
VADNAIS HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) - A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 694 in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota early Friday morning.
The incident happened at 2:39 a.m. when a woman was fatally struck by a passing car on I-694 under Edgerton Street. The car then fled the scene.
Roads were wet at the time of the crash.
The victim has been identified as Aelicia Taylor, 38, of St. Paul.
"We know crashes happen; it's possible you didn't know you hit a person. That happens. It's dark, it's night, it's late," said Kevin Skalsky of the Minnesota State Patrol. "So, we just need to come forward and let us know what happened. We need to know what happened."
The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the driver of the suspect vehicle in the crash, who may not have known they struck Taylor.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2013-2016 red Audi.
