Osseo-born Caleb Truax talks about his upcoming Armory fight, inspiring others

Osseo-born boxer Caleb Truax stopped by FOX 9 Sports Now Friday night to discuss his upcoming fight in Minneapolis.

He is scheduled to take on Peter Quillin at the Armory on FOX Sports 1 April 13.

The former IBF Super Middleweight World Champion said it’s “One of the biggest fights Minnesota has ever had.”

Truax talked about professional boxing’s rapid rise in Minnesota and how its popularity has led to an expected sellout of the Armory for the April fight.

He also talked about his hashtag, #CutNoCorners, which encourages others to not take shortcuts when training for anything.

Truax said he adopted the mantra when he started boxing at age 19.

“I feel honored that someone would look at me and would draw inspiration from me,” he said.

Now, he uses #CutNoCorners to motivate young athletes at his Coon Rapids nonprofit boxing gym.
