OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) - A corrections officer was seriously attacked by an offender Wednesday at a correctional facility in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota.
According to a release, the officer fought back and was then assisted by several other officers. The officer's injuries are not life-threatening.
The facility was put under lockdown following the assault.
The offender was serving a life sentence for aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
The attack is under investigation, so further details cannot be released.
