The Minnesota Wild are a quarter of the way into the day-to-day grind of an 82-game NHL season, so it’s easy to lose sight of what makes hockey fun.

Following an emotional win Friday, the team took things outside Saturday morning for their team practice in St. Louis Park.

The event was free and open to the public at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. Fans bundled up in their favorite Wild gear and had free coffee and hot chocolate as they watched the local NHL team practice, scrimmage and compete in a shootout Saturday.

More than 1,000 fans packed the bleachers in St. Louis Park to witness the practice.

Players donned knit caps over their helmets as did Head Coach Bruce Boudreau.

The Wild are back indoors Tuesday night at the Xcel Energy Center as they take on the Arizona Coyotes.
