Twin Cities road conditions amid morning snow

The backstory:

There is a belt of winter weather advisories stretching from the Dakotas, through central Minnesota, into central Wisconsin. The advisories are in effect from Sunday night until Monday at noon.

The snow is expected to start falling overnight into the Monday morning commute and could drop anywhere between 1 and 4 inches of snow.

As of around 9:20 a.m., the Minnesota Department of Transportation's website lists most major roadways in the Twin Cities as having slush and light snow on the surface, while central regions are seeing snow on the roadways.

There have been several crashes and spinouts reported on Twin Cities metro roadways, according to MnDOT's website.
