Missing Cambridge teen found after he built campfire
CAMBRIDGE, Minn. (KMSP) - The missing vulnerable teen has been found safe, according to the Isanti County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency personnel near Cambridge, Minnesota were searching for 16-year-old Kaine Martinez, who wandered off from his home in Cambridge late Wednesday night, possibly only wearing his underwear.
A group of firefighters and volunteers found Kaine at a campsite he made about 1.5 mile from his home. He had built a campfire and the searchers saw the smoke and found him.
Emergency crews took the teen to Cambridge Hospital where he is receiving treatment for bug bites.
More than 200 volunteers came to help search for the teen.
The Isanti County sheriff's office, mounted patrol, safety rescue and Cambridge firefighters and volunteers all assisted with the search.
