Missing Apple Valley Domino's driver dead after incident in St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - The Domino's pizza delivery driver who has been missing for a week has died following an incident in St. Paul.
Disappeared during his Domino's shift
The backstory:
Shuefaub Xiong went missing on Jan. 14 after showing up for work in Apple Valley and going out to make deliveries. Xiong was scheduled to deliver four pizzas, but never delivered the food or returned to work or home.
Police issued an alert later that week, and family members organized search parties to look for Xiong.
On Monday, police said they had discovered Xiong's Toyota Camry in Superior, Wis. They had also learned Xiong had been spotted near the vehicle on Saturday afternoon and later that night he had met with an acquaintance in Roseville.
Police said they feared he was suffering from a mental health issue.
Incident in St. Paul
What we know:
St. Paul police said they responded to the 1100 block of Rice Street on Tuesday afternoon to a report by Xiong's brother, saying Xiong was there and suffering from mental health issues.
Police say Xiong threatened to take his own life and family members, who were able to get out of the house safely, said Xiong had access to a gun kept in the home.
Officers tried to make contact with Xiong but, ultimately, police say he ran from the home and turned the gun on himself. Despite efforts to revive him, Xiong was pronounced dead at the scene.
