Minnesota driver admits to looking at his phone before rolling car
MUNSON TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - A Richmond, Minnesota driver admitted he was distracted by his phone when he went into a ditch and rolled his car several times Tuesday.
According to the Stearns County sheriff's office, at about 2:27 a.m. Tuesday, authorities responded to an accident with injuries at County Road 43 and 217th Street in Munson Township, Minn.
Raymundo Villavieencio-Quijas, 26, was driving on County Road 43 when he got distracted by his phone and went into a ditch, rolling several times. He then went to a nearby home to call for help.
The driver said he was wearing his seat belt and was traveling at 56 mph when he crashed. His injuries were not life-threatening.
He was cited for driving after suspension, use of telecommunication device and careless driving.
