Minneapolis Police shoot, kill armed suspect while attending to shooting victim
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minneapolis Police shot and killed an armed man just before 3 a.m. Friday morning in the Hawthorne neighborhood of Minneapolis.
According to a police spokesperson, officers first responded to the 1100 block of 25th Avenue North to a report of shots fired. While en route, they received a call of a woman who was shot a block away on the 2400 block of Emerson Avenue North.
When they arrived, officers located the woman. She was later transported to a hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
Then, the officers encountered an armed man. What weapon the man had is unknown at this time.
During a confrontation, shots were fired and the man died at the scene.
The officers involved were wearing body-worn cameras that were on at the time.
No officers were injured in the confrontation, and the BCA has taken over the investigation.
