Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and members of the city council dedicated a new mural in City Hall to immigrants and refugees.

The mural depicts the experiences of immigrants and refugees. The mural is titled, “El Camino del Corazón,” which is Spanish for “The Journey of the Heart.”

It’s displayed on the third floor of City Hall outside City Council Chamber.

Resilience in Communities after Stress & Trauma (ReCAST Minneapolis) partnered with Communidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) to create the mural.

To get the imagery, GoodSpace Murals hosted seven sessions with ten community members to get their experiences for incorporation into the artwork. City staff participated in the last four sessions to help paint the mural alongside the community members.
