Men 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes' to raise awareness about gender violence

Minnesota men slipped on high heels and other women’s shoes and went for a walk Saturday morning to raise awareness about domestic, sexual and gender violence.

It was the third annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” hosted in Anoka.

The walk asks men to literally put themselves in women’s shoes to raise awareness and show their support against gender violence. Although wearing high heels is encouraged, it’s not a requirement.

Proceeds from the fashionable cause will benefit the Alexandra House, which helps victims from across Minnesota.
