ME: Woman at tent city died of fentanyl, meth overdose

The woman who died at the homeless encampment along Hiawatha Avenue in Minneapolis last month suffered a fatal overdose of fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s report released Thursday.

Pamela Rivera, 51, was the third person to die from an overdose at the tent city.

The Fox 9 Investigators profiled Rivera earlier this week and her final hours before her death on Sept. 30. Rivera had concerns about how food and clothing were being distributed the encampment.
Fentanyl is a synthetic drug 50 times more powerful than morphine.

The medical examiner has determined that it was an accidental overdose.
