Man's body recovered from Vermillion River in Dakota County, Minn.
RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - The Dakota County Sheriff's Office recovered a man's body from the Vermillion River early Tuesday morning.
Deputies were called to the river at the Etter Bridge in Ravenna Township, south of Hastings, at 8:49 p.m. on Monday on a report of a possible drowning.
A witness reported a man was attempting to swim across the river, but the fast-moving current swept him downstream. The witness said the man began to struggle and eventually went underwater, where they lost sight of him.
The body was recovered near that location at 2 a.m. He has been identified as 30-year-old Maung Ngae of St. Paul.
