Man robs woman while impersonating an officer in fake traffic stop in Sleepy Eye
SLEEPY EYE, Minn. (KMSP) - Police in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota are looking for an unidentified man after he allegedly impersonated an officer to rob a motorist.
According to the Sleepy Eye Police Department, a little after 7 a.m. Sunday, a woman left the Casey’s Gas Station heading west on Maple Street when a vehicle with a red and blue overhead lights pulled her over.
The female driver said a man approached her driver side window and ordered her to give him her wallet. She obliged, thinking he was an officer. He took her wallet and credit cards and took off.
He is described as a thinly built black male, approximately 5’7” to 5’10” and clean shaven with a southern accent.
