Man dies after head-on crash in construction zone near St. James, Minn.
ST. JAMES TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - A Wisconsin man was killed after he missed the lane change in a construction zone, crashing head-on with a Jeep in southern Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday in St. James Township, Minn. Authorities say the man was driving his Jeep west on Highway 60 when he came into a construction zone and missed the lane change. He then crashed head-on with another Jeep.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Derek Arthur Anderson of Marinette, Wis. died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the other Jeep suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
