Man dead in north Minneapolis shooting

One man is dead after a shooting Thursday morning in north Minneapolis. 

At 5:07 a.m., officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 1900 block of Newton Avenue North near the intersection of Golden Valley Road.

Scott Seroka, a spokesperson with the Minneapolis Police Department, said one man was found in the street with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to North Memorial Hospital, where he died a short time later. 

Minneapolis Police are investigating the incident as a homicide. No suspects are in custody at this time.
