Man arrested in Eden Prairie with stolen guns, explosive material in U-Haul

A 25-year-old St. Paul, Minnesota man was arrested in Eden Prairie Monday after police found stolen firearms and materials that could be used to make explosive material in the back of a U-Haul he was driving. 

At 5:52 a.m., a 64-year-old man called police to report that a suspicious man that had showed up at his house on the 18000 block of Erin Bay, then left and began driving around in U-Haul pickup truck, according to the Eden Prairie Police Department. 

Police located the suspect inside the U-Haul near Seneca Pointe with the stolen weapons and explosive material. 

Police notified some nearby residents to shelter in place and diverted traffic from the area while a bomb squad searched the truck. 

At 8:25 a.m., investigators determined the U-Haul had no active explosive devices. 

Police believe this is a targeted incident and there is no threat to the public. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Eden Prairie Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
