Man arrested after 4.5 hour standoff in -20 degree weather

A man was arrested in Barron County after a four and a half hour stand-off with police on Friday night. Authorities went to the home after the man's girlfriend called 9-1-1, and said he had a gun, and was threatening to kill her.

The woman called the police at 11 p.m., and said she was barricaded inside a trailer in Anderson Mobile Home Park. During the call, the woman reported a possible gunshot.

She was able to escape the home but the man, Darin Jenkins, 46, would not come out. An Emergency Response Team was called, and attempted to get him to come out with no results.

At 3:30 a.m., the team entered the home and arrested Jenkins without incident. He is being held on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic abuse and bail jumping.

Over the four and a half hours, the emergency response team remained outdoors in temperatures as low as -20.
