Malcolm-Jamal Warner drowning in Costa Rica: 2nd man in critical condition

A second man who was involved in the same incident that led to actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s drowning death, was in critical condition over the weekend, according to reports.

What happened?

What we know:

A 35-year-old man was transported to a clinic in Costa Rica in critical condition on July 20, according to a USA Today report.

The Costa Rican Red Cross received a report of a water-related incident on Sunday and dispatched medical personnel to treat both the man and Warner.

Both men were dragged by a water current at Playa Cocles in Limón that afternoon, according to the New York Post.

What we don't know:

The current condition of the 35-year-old is unknown as of this report.

The backstory:

Warner, who is best known for playing Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," was 54 when he died.

What they're saying:

"He was rescued by people on the beach," the department's initial report said, but first responders from Costa Rica’s Red Cross found him without vital signs.

Warner was married with a daughter, but chose to not publicly disclose their names.
