Gophers senior running back Shannon Brooks has been released from custody Monday after he was arrested early Sunday morning for an alleged domestic incident over the weekend.

Police responded to a domestic abuse call at Brooks’ apartment in Minneapolis around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The incident reportedly involved a male roommate of Brooks'.

The Minneapolis City Attorney’s Office says it has reviewed the case and will not be filing charges against Brooks.

“There will be further investigation and pending the results of that investigation, a decision to file charges will be reviewed again,” the City Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Brooks, 22, is in his fourth year with the Gophers.
