From humble beginnings, Trivia Mafia takes Minnesota by storm

This is the story of two guys, a love of trivia, and an accidental business.

What started as a few casual trivia nights at Minneapolis bars eventually turned into a full-fledged entertainment company called Trivia Mafia, run by business partners Sean McPherson and Chuck Terhark.

"It's trivia first, business second," McPherson says. "We really care about getting people out to the nights, but we really want to make sure we're having a fun time."

Fast forward eight years -- dozens of trivia hosts are now running hundreds of Trivia Mafia nights in some 50 Minnesota bars every night of the week.

The trivia nights are for anybody who wants to use their noodle, not their Google, because let's face it -- it's not every day you can leave a bar smarter than when you walked in.

Fox 9's Amy Hockert recently got a first-person look at one of the Trivia Mafia nights. Check out her video report, including interviews with McPherson and Terhark, at the top of this post.
