Former Starkey executives, business associates sentenced in fraud scheme

Three other defendants have been sentenced for their roles in a fraud scheme against Starkey Laboratories, Inc.

Former Starkey CFO Scott Nelson, former president of Starkey’s Northland Hearing Centers Jeffery Longtain and former Starkey business associate Jeffrey Taylor, were sentenced Thursday. Former Starkey president Jerome Ruzicka was sentenced on Wednesday. He received a seven-year sentence.

Taylor was sentenced to 18 months of prison for one count of mail fraud and two counts of wire fraud. Nelson received a two-year sentence for one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. Longtain was sentenced to one year of probation for one count of marking and subscribing a false return.
