Ford issued a recall for more than 741,000 vehicles because of a transmission problem that could damage the park system, which may elevate the risk of a crash or injury.

In a recall report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that Ford is aware of 24 accusations of property damage and nine alleged injuries, with two of those being allegations of emotional injuries, related to the problem.

According to the NHTSA report, if transmission park system damage happens, the ability of the transmission park features to hold the vehicle if the parking brake is not applied may be affected. Unintended movement in "park" increases the risk of a crash or injury.
