Driver charged after passenger dies in Andover crash

ANDOVER, Minn. (KMSP) - The Anoka County Sheriff's Office says a 52-year-old Andover man died in a crash on the 14000 block of Underclift Street Northwest in Andover Saturday afternoon.

The sheriff's office says deputies responded around 4:00 to a single-vehicle crash where 47-year-old Chandler Diedrich of Coon Rapids lost control of his vehicle, went into a yard and struck a tree.

A 52-year-old Andover man died at the scene. Diedrich was taken to Mercy Hospital, and later booked for criminal vehicular homicide.

The sheriff's office says the passenger's name is being withheld until family is notified and no other details will be released since the incident is under investigation.
