Domestic dispute leads to hours-long standoff between man and Minneapolis Police

Minneapolis Police are investigating a domestic dispute involving multiple people that ended with one man in the hospital.

Police say it happened on the 5100 block of Colfax Avenue North just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived to the scene, they learned it was an incident between family members and involved a gun.

Officers removed everyone from the house except for one man who refused to go and barricaded himself inside.

It wasn't until after nearly three hours of negotiation that surrendered to police with a gunshot wound.

That injury occurred before police arrived.

Investigators say the man was sent to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is currently being detained while they investigate.
