Cross-check lands Winnipeg's Josh Morrissey with one-game suspension

The Winnipeg Jets' Josh Morrissey was suspended for one game Wednesday for cross-checking the Wild's Eric Staal in Game 4 of a first-round NHL playoff series Sunday, the result of a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

The incident happened during the first period but did not result in a penalty, with Minnesota Coach Bruce Boudreau saying afterword that the no-call cost his team the game.

Winnipeg ultimately went on to win 2-0 and take a 3-1 lead in the series. The Jets now have a chance to win the seven-game series Friday at home.
