Construction worker killed in trench collapse in Blue Earth Co.

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - A construction worker in Blue Earth County was killed Monday afternoon when the sides of the trench where he was working caved in and buried him.
The Blue Earth County sheriff’s office received a report of a construction accident at a work site in Lincoln Township around 2:45 p.m. The 28-year-old man was working on a project with for North Dakota-based Vortex Drain and Tile near the intersection of County Road 30 and 171st Street.
Emergency responders were unable to recover the body of the worker until 8:15 p.m. because the area near the accident was determined to be unstable, hampering rescue efforts.
The victim has not been identified.
