80-year-old woman dies after Arden Hills house fire
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (KMSP) - An 80-year-old woman has died from her injuries nearly two weeks after she was rescued from a house fire in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
The fire occurred on April 27 at a home on the 1800 block of Gramsie Road. A Ramsey County sheriff's deputy was the first to respond. Neighbors informed him there was a woman that lived at the house that was believed to be inside.
The deputy entered the home and located the woman, later identified as Louise Michaelson, unconscious about 10 feet from the front door, according to Lake Johanna Fire Department Fire Chief Tim Boehlke.
After the deputy rescued Michaelson from the home, she was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she was treated with smoke inhalation and burns.
She died from her injuries on May 5.
A family dog also died in the fire. No one else was in the home at the time.
The fire was believed to be accidental, Boehlke said.
