3 injured in early morning shooting in Bloomington, Minn.

Three people were injured after a shooting early Saturday morning in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Police arrested two adults from Illinois on charges of second degree assault. Kia Joyce Johnson-Gordon, 21, and Jermaine Cameron Taylor, 28, are both in custody at the Bloomington Jail.

Shortly after 4 a.m., police received calls of shots fired at the Comfort Inn on East 78th Street. When they arrived, officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

The two men were sent to HCMC.

A third man was also shot, but left before police arrived. He was found at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. All three men are from Chicago.

Officers discovered that two different groups planned to meet at the hotel parking lot and shots were fired at some point during that meeting.

Police said the incident appears to be the result of a robbery that targeted a large number of recently purchased cell phones. According to police, the victims were loading their vehicle after staying the night at the hotel when they were confronted by the suspects.

Police said that the incident does not appear to be a random act.
