1 dead, 2 injured in Linwood Township head-on crash
LINWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. (KMSP) - A head-on collision in Anoka County between two vehicles left one person dead and two others critically injured, according to Commander Paul Sommer with the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened around 7:23 p.m. Friday in the 9400 block of Viking Boulevard in Linwood Township. A minivan headed eastbound and an SUV headed westbound crashed into each other head-on.
A 60-year-old man of Lindstrom, who was driving the minivan, died at the scene. His passenger, a 59-year-old woman was airlifted to Regions Hospital. She is in critical condition.
A 34-year-old woman of Linwood Township, who was driving the SUV, was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center. She is also in critical condition.
At this point in the investigation, police say it appears the SUV crossed the center line and hit the minivan.
The crash is still under investigation.
