Minnesota weather: Snow totals from Monday, Feb. 3

It wasn't a major winter storm, but the snow Minnesota picked up overnight and Monday morning was enough to cause some problems on area roadways

  • Little Falls: 4 inches
  • Rice Lake, Wisconsin: 3.7 inches
  • Upsala: 3.5 inches
  • Cambridge: 2.4 inches
  • Woodbury: 1.1 inches
  • MSP Airport: 0.9 inches
  • Minneapolis: 0.8 inches
  • Chanhassen: 0.4 inches

Timeline:

There was a belt of winter weather advisories stretching from the Dakotas, through central Minnesota, into central Wisconsin. The advisories were in effect from Sunday night until Monday at noon.

The snow made for some slick road conditions during Monday morning’s commute. There are also a few schools that opened late on Monday morning due to the snow. You can find a list here.

What to expect after the snow:

As the snow clears, the clouds will linger for an overcast and chilly day on Monday. The Twin Cities metro daytime high is 25 degrees, though winds at 10-15 mph could make it feel in the single digits. Northern Minnesota will see much cooler temperatures in the teens and single digits.

Temperatures will fall overnight with subzero lows across much of Minnesota, although the metro will likely stay slightly above zero.
